Inside a live video shopping appointment
What to prepare, what to ask, and how to make a remote store visit feel focused rather than overwhelming.
How it works · Shoppin Journal
A good video shopping session is a guided store visit with a prepared shortlist, clear decision points, and enough visual detail to approve or reject each option.
Before the call
Share reference images, measurements, must-have details, and your maximum budget before the shopper reaches the store. A shortlist saves time and helps the camera focus on genuinely relevant products.
If colour accuracy is important, request photographs in neutral light as a supplement to the video.
During the visit
Use the session to compare scale, texture, movement, finishing, labels, and visible defects. Ask the shopper to pause rather than sweeping quickly across shelves.
For clothing, confirm the store's size chart and actual garment measurements instead of relying only on a familiar size label.
The camera should support a decision, not create pressure to decide quickly.
After approval
The selected product, price, quantity, and delivery plan should be restated before purchase. Keeping the confirmation in writing avoids confusion when several similar options were discussed.
